Advantages of lithium ion Laptop Battery

High energy density

Reduces the weight by half and volume by 20% to 50% compared to the same capacity nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) and nickel-metal-hydride (Ni-MH) laptop battery.

High safety

ECertified by UL Safety Standards UL-1642
EGreater resistance to overcharging ¨C1
EHigh thermal stability ¨C1
¨C1=especially manganese type

No memory effect

Unlike nickel-cadmium laptop battery, lithium ion laptop battery have no "memory" effect, the effect which causes charging capacity to be reduced by repeatedly charging and discharging to insufficient levels, therefore, partial charging is possible.

High operating voltage

Reduces the number of laptop battery pack required since li-ion laptop battery can provide three times the voltage of nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) and nickel-metal-hydride (Ni-MH) battery, which contributes to miniaturization of electronic devices.

No pollution
Does not use restricted pollutants such as cadmium, lead, and mercury.

What is the best camcorder to record a graduation?

Q:i want to purchase a new camcorder to use at my training graduation. What is the best camcorder to record a basic training graduation?

A:There are two categories of camcorders STANDARD definition and and HIGH Definition. There are 4 recording formats for camcorders. 1) MiniDV tape 2) DVD 3)Hard Disk Drive or HDD and 4) Flash Drive.

Note as of February 2009, High Definition is the rule, standard broadcast TV will no longer exist, you will need to aquire a converter box just to watch regular broadcast television such as Oprah or whatever. So, eventually you will get an HD television. So, do you really want to purchase Standard Definition camcorder? Prices range $200 - $600.

MiniDV tape requires you to dub from camcorder to TV or computer via hookup to watch. 60 minute recording tapes.

DVD records only 30 minutes per side or disk. MUST finalize disk on camcorder BEFORE you can view on DVD player. No cables, but necessary to purchase new media all the time. $400 - $600 Standard...$700+ for HD.

HDD or Hard Disk Drive camcorders have 20 - 120 GB of internal memory, thats 6 hours to 40 hours of video time. But, you must download to computer to burn DVD/CD or purchase a separate DVD burner to archieve your videos off of HDD camcorder. $450 - $550 Standard...$850+ for HD.

Flash Drive camcorders are currently Canon, Sony or Samsung. These have some internal and primarily external removable memory such as Secure Disk memory card or Sony Memory Stick. These units are strickly playback or USB download to computer to burn a cd/DVD disk. $800+.

Note: Sony Blueray for High Definition is the winner of the format war for HD. All burners will be for Blue Ray recording.

ps...better have an long last battery for your camcorder, the worktime depends on the capacity of the camcorder battery .

How to choose a camcorder to record instrumental performances

Q: My husband likes to record himself when he practices percussion instruments,What is the best camcorder to record instrumental performances

A:I think what you need is something to control the audio levels.

There are a couple of Panasonic camcorders (DigiLife DDV-6000) to identify a few - but as you will find, they are higher-end camcorders. But all of these camcorders have manual audio control.

Another way is to control the audio externally, but this does not work quite as well - and will require in investment in external microphones in addition to the external control. Specifically, If you were to use a camcorder with a mic-in jack (like all those above or the Canon ZR800) and use an XLR adapter (like those from BeachTek - I wold suggest the DXA-6vu so you can see the audio being sent to the camcorder)... and mics that use XLR connections, then you would be OK.

The last option I can think of is to use a "field recorder". Several companies make them (M-Audio, Marantz, Fostex, among others). They have built-in mics or can connect external mics, they have manual audio-in level control and they typically record to some sort of memory card. When the video is edited in your computer, you set the audio from the camcorder video to zero and add this external audio on top of it. And at last i suggest you buying a replacement camcorder battery for your camcorder, for most OEM Cacorder battery has not enough capacity for professional instrument player.

Good inexpensive camcorder for independent filmmakers

Q:I need a camcorder, what is a good inexpensive camcorder for independent filmmakers?

A:Generally, by "something that will not give me the whole 'home movie' effect and feel," I think your talking about the film-look. It can be replicated, through either software or in-camera. However, both these options are pretty expensive, and it doesn't sound like you have that much money right now. I'll get to that later, but for now I'm going to talk about cameras.

From what you said, I m guessing you want a camcorder probably $800 or below (correct me if I'm wrong, and I'll re write this). In that price range, I cant recommend any particular camera, but follow these rules and you should have a pretty good beginner filmmaking camera:

1. Get miniDV- pretty obvious isn't it?
2. Look for a lot of manual functions- every cam has auto functions, but look for the ability to switch to manual focus, iris, shutter, etc.
3. 3ccds are better than 1
4. The newest isnt always the greatest- not really a rule but basically dont go and get the newest thing that just came out

Other plusses are mic ports, headphone ports, hot shoes, and optical image stabilizer.

If you get a tripod, get one with a fluid head. I'm not recommending a particular one, but look around on google. To tell you the truth, Im not exactly a pro on tripods. But a useful trick that you can do with your tripod is screw on your camera, and instead of opening up the legs, hold the legs together and walk with it. If you do it right, the tripod will absorb the shake from your hands giving you a very cheap steadicam effect. And in usual conditions a long last camcorder battery is the prerequistite for a filmmaker.

HP PAVILION DV6000 Laptop Review

The Pavilion dv6000t is a stylish, reasonably priced laptop for both work and play. Highlights include a bright 15.4-inch wide-screen display, a keyboard with a touchpad lock, strong sound, one-touch entertainment, and a superb optional docking station.

Hewlett Packard is one of the most prominent manufacturers of notebook computers today, and any trip to Best Buy will make that abundantly clear. Well, as of this writing, one of the notebook PCs they have on sale right now at Best Buy is the HP Pavilion DV6000. I picked one up a couple months ago for $800. I was in Best Buy a couple weeks ago and it was on sale for $749. So, this is certainly an affordable notebook PC. So, how does it perform in everyday use? Let’s check it out.

In my eyes, the DV6000 is proof that PCs are affordable as hell today. These specs compare quite favorably to my desktop, all in a sub $800 notebook.

AMD Turion 64, dual core processor

2 GB DDR2 memory

15.4″ WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)

256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7200

160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support

1.3 Megapixel Webcam with mic built into screen

Altec Lansing speakers built in

3 USB ports, ExpressCard/54 Slot, Video Out, Integrated Consumer IR, 1 RJ-11, 1 RJ-45

Windows Vista Home Premium

The standard 6-cell HP PAVILION DV6000 Battery disappointed, lasting a brief 2.1 hours in our tests. If Pavilion DV6000 battery life is one of your priorities, you'll do well to upgrade to the 12-cell version for $39 more; with this battery a 2.16-GHz Core Duo T2600-equipped HP Pavilion dv2000t, basically the same notebook with a 14.1-inch screen, worked unplugged for over 7 hours. (The taller battery also makes a nice typing foot.)

However, the rest of our Windows XP Home review unit was top-notch. For starters, the dv6000 is one of several Pavilion models that have gone high fashion: For $29 more, the dv6000 can have the same high-gloss metallic touches, piano-black finish, and subtle wave imprint as its dv2000 and dv9000 siblings. It's a gorgeous look for a notebook.

The QuickPlay buttons at the top are too easy to hit by accident, as I mentioned above. Some obvious way to control or disable those buttons would be nice.

We need some kind of anti-glare surface to the screen. It’s practically unusable in sunlight. I realize that the surface it does have plays a role in the crystal clear colors I see indoors, but something has to be done to make this thing more usable in sunlight.

AMD is good for economics, but it generates a lot more heat.

Battery Life Keeps Decreasing

Q: Why does my toshiba laptop battery life keep decreasing everytime I unplug it?

A:The laptop battery memory issue is caused when a battery is charged but stopped during the charge process before being completed. This causes Laptop batteries to then charge to the amount that the battery was last charged at decreasing the maximum life of the battery over time.

This issue can sometimes be resolved by allowing the laptop battery to completely discharge and then recharging the battery to its full capacity.

You need to buy a replacement battery. Your battery is just getting worn out and it can no longer hold that kind of charge.

You can exercise it though, to get more life out of it. Run it out COMPLETELY, and fully charge it, and then run it out again. Do this two or three times. This will help with the life of the battery.
